Privacy

Due to the private nature of the mental health services, NAPA typically requires that adults seeking treatment schedule their own appointments, or if they have a guardian or conservator that person may also call. Appropriate releases are usually required to allow others to schedule for them.

Minors

For children and adolescents, parents and guardians may schedule appointments, though any custody or guardianship paperwork involved will need to be presented at the time of the first appointment. Adolescents above a certain age legally may privately seek treatment on their own. Exceptions are made under certain unique circumstances, when allowed.

Insurance

Many insurance policies now require that individuals receive a formal referral from their Primary Care Provider prior to authorizing payment for specialty treatment, including mental health services. Please check your policy benefits prior to scheduling to verify if this is required for you. We will also make an effort to verify your benefits prior to your appointment, but cannot guarantee that we will catch this in every circumstance. We cannot make this referral in the stead of your Primary Care Provider.
